Overview:

We are seeking an experienced German-speaking (at least B1) IT System Administrator to manage, develop, and ensure the efficiency, security, and forward-thinking operation of our Clients' internal IT landscape. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and optimizing the testing and DevOps processes, as well as overseeing the IT infrastructure.

Location: Germany, Trier or Cologne (Köln)

Tasks include:

• Administration and support of the company network and its associated components.
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of server and client operating systems.
• Ensuring the smooth operation of internal IT systems, including LAN/WAN connections.
• Managing and administering Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian).
• Migrating the hardware landscape to the cloud.
• Optimizing and maintaining DevOps processes, particularly through the introduction and development of CI/CD pipelines.
• Designing and automating test processes to ensure system stability and efficiency.
• Virtualization using technologies such as Proxmox and KVM.
• Managing server middleware (e.g., Apache httpd, Tomcat, PostgreSQL).
• Ensuring IT security and implementing protective measures.
• Assisting with daily IT issues such as data storage and access management.
• Keeping up with new technologies and trends to continuously improve development and IT environments.

Your profile:

• Completed training or a degree in computer science, information technology, or a comparable qualification.
• Solid knowledge and experience in administering Linux servers and systems (preferably Ubuntu or Debian).
• Good command of shell scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible).
• Strong knowledge in automating test and build processes.
• Understanding of security concepts and experience in implementing protective measures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
• Willingness to continue developing in a dynamic and ever-evolving environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox, KVM).
• Knowledge in working with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Microsoft 365).
• Experience in optimizing DevOps processes and using configuration management tools.
